Cody Gapare is an entrepreneurial breast cancer survivor, who has revolutionised the beauty industry by creating the first ever false lashes range for chemotherapy patients, ‘C-Lash’.

A mother-of-two who always dreamed of becoming a lawyer, she started studying when she came to the UK from Zimbabwe.

Hours before her interview for University, she was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 36, and it was through this intensely difficult time in her life that she realised that there were no fake eyelash options for cancer patients. She transformed her idea into an actual product, ‘C-Lash’, and partnered with beauty brand Eylure.

C-Lash have since released the range in Boots stores in 2019 and in Walgreens USA in 2020, making the cosmetic industry more accessible for women with cancer. C-Lash was voted one of the 50 Prima High Street Heroes 2019 and Best Lashes in the Red Best of Beauty Awards 2019.

Rightly so, Cody is proud to have been nominated for Woman of the Year 2019, won Beauty Award at the EVAs, Innovation of the Year Award at the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards and Entrepreneur of Excellence Award at the National Diversity Awards all in 2019.

Most of all, she is proud to be helping women feel more confident again.

Cody will talk about Resilience, the painful life lessons that you learn when the chips are down, often the most important lessons you learn in life, before being joined on a panel by local business leaders to share their stories of resilience, with an open discussion from guests.
